La Policía detuvo al hombre que hostigaba a Romina Manguel y fue procesado e imputado por amenazas agravadas por ser anónimas y hostigamiento agravados por la desigualdad de género.
La periodista realizó la denuncia en febrero tras comenzar a recibir llamados de un número anónimo de una voz masculina la insultaba y la amenazaba con ir a buscarla a la casa.
Además, los vecinos de Manguel recibieron llamados donde les advertía sobre la conductora en medio de insultos. A raíz de estos hechos la Fiscalía PCyF 6, a cargo del Dr. Federico Taramelli inició la investigación que finalizó con la detención de esta persona.
"Denuncien siempre. Que no sea gratuito amenazarnos y hostigarnos por lo que decimos o pensamos o por ser mujeres. Hoy hay un responsable detenido", escribió Manguel en su cuenta de Twitter.

El Cuerpo de Investigaciones Judiciales del Ministerio Público Fiscal, junto con el Departamento Unidad de Delitos Federales de la PFA, logró dar con el hombre por el entrecruzamiento de varios datos y una imagen captada por la cámara de seguridad de un kiosco donde el imputado había cargado crédito, que fue clave para ubicarlo en su domicilio en El Talar, provincia de Buenos Aires.

La causa tramita en el Juzgado PCyF 15, a cargo de la Dra. Karina Andrade, y el allanamiento fue concedido vía exhorto a través del Juzgado de Garantías Nro.6 de San Isidro.
Las conductas delictivas fueron calificadas como amenazas simples, agravadas por ser anónimas y como hostigamiento, agravado por la desigualdad de género, por haber sido cometida mediante la utilización de identidades falsas y por odio de género.
